Since Babylonians used the base 60 numeral system, the multiplication table will be very large if all possible products of two numerals (there are 59 × 59 of them!) are written. Therefore, Babylonian used the so-called single table i.e., listing multiples of a single number. The following is the multiplication table for 9:
Notice that the table do not list out all the multiples of 9. Therefore, for example, if we want to find 9 × 37, we need to add 9 × 30 and 9 × 7 together.
