School Nomination 2011-12 |
The HKAGE invites secondary school teachers, school social workers and school educational psychologists to nominate their gifted students with outstanding performance/great potential in Humanities, Leadership, Mathematics or Sciences to join the HKAGE. School Nomination 2011-12 starts from 9:00 a.m., 5 September 2011 and ends at 5:00 p.m., 14 October 2011.

| Online Nomination Platform
The Online Platform will be available from 9:00 a.m., 5 September 2011 to help you in the nomination process. It can be accessed at http://nomination.hkage.org.hk The benefits are:
IT IS EASY TO USE:
- Easy access to information by schools and HKAGE authorized persons
- It takes only a few steps to complete the forms
- The HKAGE will demonstrate the process at the briefing sessions and a user manual can be downloaded from the Platform or the HKAGE website
IT IS CONVENIENT:
- Schools can track the data submission process online
- There is electronic notification of nomination status and related reminders
IT IS SECURE:
- The level of data accuracy and protection is enhanced
TOGETHER WE CAN HELP THE ENVIRONMENT:

Please refer to the School Nomination invitation letter for the username and password assigned to your school coordinator. Please complete the online nomination and return the Submission Checklist with supporting documents before the nomination deadline at 5:00 p.m., 14 October 2011.

Briefing Sessions
Briefing sessions will be held for school principals, teacher representatives, school social workers and school educational psychologists to familiarize them with the School Nomination arrangements. The sessions will cover:
- Introduction to Gifted Education in Hong Kong
- Identification and selection of the gifted
- Learning opportunities at the HKAGE
- Overview of School Nomination
- Demonstration of Online Nomination Platform
- Teacher’s sharing on nomination experience

Workshop on Test Administration (Non-verbal reasoning test)
All student nominees have to undertake an online non-verbal reasoning test after the submission of nominations. Schools are kindly requested to arrange the test at your premises and details will be provided via email to the school coordinators in mid of October 2011.
School representatives who are going to administer the test are invited to attend the following workshop. Please submit via the online application platform on or before 28 September 2011 (Wednesday).

Selection Tests and Interviews
The Selection Tests for shortlisted nominees in Humanities, Mathematics and Sciences domains have been scheduled on 26 November 2011 (Saturday) within the time frame from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Interviews for shortlisted nominees in Leadership domain will be held from November 2011 to January 2012.
Coordinators of the School Nomination will be informed in writing of the names of the shortlisted nominees and the test and interview schedule around mid November 2011.
Admission Results Announcement
Coordinators of the School Nomination will be informed in writing of the names of the admitted students in February 2012. Individual students will receive the Admission Letter from school.
Student Orientation (information updated on 14 November 2011)
An orientation ceremony followed with talk and sharing sessions will be held as a warm welcome to the new student members. The date has been changed from 25 February 2012 (Saturday) to 28 February 2012 (Tuesday) afternoon due to availability of the venue. Online application platform for registration will open closer to the date.
