The Parent Education Programs are intended to help parents understand giftedness and to equip them with the basic knowledge and skills so that they can nurture their children in a supportive home environment.

The aim is to provide different learning opportunities ranging from basic, introductory to comprehensive and intensive courses for parents with varied background.

  • Enhance parents’ understanding in gifted education;
  • Strengthen their parenting skills of parents with gifted children; and
  • Provide a platform where parents can interactively learn from each other.

Parent Seminars
Introductory Level To introduce to parents basic concepts on giftedness and types of provisions All parents 1 1/2 hours per seminar
Intermediate Level To equip parents with knowledge and skills in various domains:
1. Parenting gifted children
2. Characteristics of gifted children
3. Affective domain

Parents with prior knowledge in gifted education

2 hours per seminar
Parent Workshops
Workshops series To equip parents with parenting skills through sharing and interaction in small groups Parents of gifted children Each series comprises 2 sessions
(2 hours per session)
Parent-child Parallel Groups
Parallel group series To facilitate parents to learn together with their gifted children through sharing, interaction and activities Gifted children and their parents Each series comprises 4 to 6 sessions (1 hour and 30 minutes per session)
Project Twice-exceptional
Workshops and parent-child parallel group Through understanding the needs of twice-exceptional families, a series of workshops and groups will be organised Twice-exceptional families Workshops will be 2 hours per session whereas parallel group will be 1 1/2 hour per session
The introductory programme in this academic year will be decentralized and to be conducted at schools, targeting more parents from various districts.

Project Twice-exceptional


A series of workshops and parent-child parallel groups will be launched based on the information collected in the first stage.  For details, please visit our ‘Project Twice Exceptional’ or press enter.

Target audience:  Families with twice-exceptional children. Priority will be given to those who have participated in the focus group interviews of the project.
