Consultation and Assessment Centre

The HKAGE understands and recognises the critical role that parents and teachers play; hence the Consultation and Assessment Centre has been established to provide parents and teachers with information and advice on nurturing their gifted children.  We also provide modestly charged assessment or counselling service to meet their individual needs.

1. Free Frontline Services
   
   The Consultation and Assessment Centre provides free consultation services for parents of gifted children in the school system who face issues or problems in parenting gifted children.  We also welcome inquiries about our Academy as well as gifted education in general.
   
   A free phone and email hotline is manned by a trained Education Advisor who provides information and advice for parents.

2. Charged Second-line Services
   The Consultation and Assessment Centre also provides second-line services at a modest rate so as to meet the diverse needs of parents with gifted children.
   
   

   Assessment

   A consultation session with our Education Advisor, parent(s) and child is conducted prior to assessments by our Education Psychologist. WISC-IV (HK) Assessment (conducted in Cantonese only) $3,800 Visual & Perceptual Assessment (conducted in Cantonese only) $1,000 Specific Learning Difficulties Assessment (primary school: HKT-P(II); secondary school: HKT-JS) $2,000 Specific Learning Difficulties Assessment + HK WISC Assessment $5,300 Grade Skipping Scale (Details) $7,000

   Counselling Service

   This charged service is provided for parents or gifted children (if appropriate) whose conditions are complex.  These might include children who are multi-exceptional or who are underachievers.
